Broadcom Trident 5-X12 NetGNT Chip

Broadcom Trident 5-X12 NetGNT Chip features an on-chip, neural-network inference engine called NetGNT (Networking General-purpose Neural-network Traffic-analyzer). The fully programmable and field-upgradable Broadcom Trident 5-X12 chip provides 16Tb/s of bandwidth, which is double that of the Trident 4-X9. The chip supports 800G ports and uses 25% less power per 400G port than previous chips. The NetGNT is designed to recognize traffic patterns that span the entire chip, which allows the engine to invoke congestion-control techniques. The NetGNT works parallel to the packet-processing pipeline to avoid degraded network performance. The NetGNT runs in hardware at a full line rate, which causes no impact to throughput or latency on the chip.
