ESD Protection Solutions

Littelfuse produces varistors, suppressors, indicators, and more so users can find the right protection to ensure the long-term reliable operation of applications.

Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) Diodes

Littelfuse TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) Diodes are a broad range of circuit protection products designed to protect electronic circuits against transients and overvoltage threats such as EFT (electrically fast transients) and ESD (electro-static discharge). Lightning strikes, inductive load switching, and ESD cause electrical over-stresses associated with the transmission on data lines and electronic circuits. Offered in a variety of surface mount and through-hole circuit board mounting formats, the TVS Diode portfolio includes high peak pulse current and peak pulse power options up to 20kA and 30kW, respectively. Littelfuse TVS Diodes are chosen for the fast response time (low clamping voltage), lower capacitance, and low leakage current. TVS Diodes are available in both unidirectional (unipolar) or bidirectional (bipolar) diodes circuit configurations. 

TVS Silicon Protection Arrays (SPA)

Littelfuse Silicon Protection Array (SPA®) TVS Diodes are designed to protect electronics from very fast and damaging voltage transients, such as lightning and electrostatic discharge (ESD). These diodes offer an ideal protection solution for I/O interfaces and digital and analog signal lines in computer and consumer portable electronics. Littelfuse TVS diodes offer a broader application use and improved impulse protection performance over conventional diodes.

SC1103C-01UTG Bidirectional TVS Diode

Littelfuse SC1103C-01UTG Bidirectional TVS Diode is fabricated in a proprietary silicon avalanche technology. This helps in protecting each I/O pin to provide a high level of protection for electronic equipment that may experience destructive Electrostatic Discharges (ESD). The SC1103C-01UTG TVS diode offers low clamping voltage, low leakage current, and Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL -1). This robust diode can safely absorb repetitive ESD strikes at ±30kV (contact discharge, IEC 61000-4-2) without performance degradation. The SC1103C-01UTG TVS diode is capable of safely dissipating 80A of 8/20μs surge current (IEC 61000-4-5, 2nd edition) with very low clamping voltages. Typical applications include switches and buttons, test equipment, instrumentation, Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, medical equipment, desktops, and computer peripherals.
